Lasell Village is actively hiring Certified Nursing Assistants to work on our Skilled Nursing Unit. We have full-time and part-time positions available.

Open shifts:

7:00 am to 3:30 pm

3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

11:00 pm-7:30 am

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) delivers efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient/family satisfaction. He/she will function within the standards of practice as accorded by his/her certification. The CNA performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Quality customer service is a top priority for everyone at the Village.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patient Care

Treat all residents fairly, with kindness, dignity, and respect, provide nursing care in the privacy
Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI) at all times
Provides patient care in a manner conducive to safety and comfort. Patient care includes, but is not limited to:
Keep patients dry (change gown and linens when wet or soiled)
Assist with meals and daily snacks as indicated
Assists patient with or performs Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
Obtains and records Vital Signs and weights per policy
Assists patients with ambulation and transfers
Positions patients in correct body alignment in and out of bed
Applies adaptive equipment as ordered
Cares for personal belongings
Assists physician and/or licensed nurse with treatments and procedures as needed
Makes both occupied and unoccupied beds
Notify licensed nurse if patient identification is missing
Participates in the care planning process and implements care according to the care plan
Performs skin care treatments, as permitted by state regulation
Applies simple clean dressings, slings, stockings, and support bandages, under the direction of the licensed nurse, as permitted by state regulation
Feeds or assists patients with meals and provides additional nourishment and hydration per care plan
Maintain intake and output records as instructed
Answers call light or bell promptly delivers messages, cleans areas of spillage or accidents
Uses standard precautions when caring for all patients. Adheres to Contact and/or droplet precautions as indicated
Reports changes in patients condition, patient/family concerns, or complaints to charge nurse and/or supervisor
Report all complaints and grievances made by the resident.
Patient Transitions

Ensure that the patients room is ready for receiving the patient; greet patient and escort to room
Inventory and mark residents personal possessions as instructed; store patients belongings
Assist patients with packing their personal possessions when they are transferred to a new room or when being discharged
Transport residents to new rooms or to the receiving area
Transfers patients belongings and equipment as directed; and assists with postmortem care
Assist with patient discharge as requested
Ensures patients are ready for scheduled rehab therapy and transports patients to rehab area
Accompanies patients when transported outside the center for appointments, if requested.
Teamwork

Participates in the orientation of newly hired staff
Collects and bags soiled linen and deliver to dirty linen area;
Obtains clean linens and supplies from supply areas, cleans utility rooms, kitchen areas, and all other nursing areas, as assigned
Cleans patient equipment as assigned
Promotes a culture of safety to ensure a healthy practice and living environment
Collaborates and coordinates with other departments to provide timely effective care consistent with individuals needs, choices, and preferences
Contributes to an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the concerns of staff, patients, and families
Participates in quality improvement activities as requested
Stays and works beyond scheduled shift if needed to meet state staffing requirements and/or needs of patients
Attend team meetings regularly, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services
Notifies shift supervisor promptly when late or absent
Performs other duties as requested.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Successful completion of a state-approved, certified nursing assistant program
A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma is preferred.
