Program Summary:

Building a “successful” Infection Prevention & Control program means that your facility will have effective measures in place to improve resident and employee safety, decrease operating costs, decrease facility-acquired infections and adverse outcomes, and will be continually survey-ready. This workshop series is designed to provide an interactive overview of infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship measures, with the opportunity for individual interaction to ensure that participants have a solid understanding of the elements of a successful program that are relevant to their job roles. Content is presented in a modular format, allowing participants to select topics relevant to their practice.

Objectives:

At the completion of this 8-week program, participants will:

•Define the staff roles and responsibilities for a successful outbreak management plan.

•Understand MDROs, C-diff and common infections found in long-term care residents.

•Understand the importance of an antibiotic stewardship program.

Presenters:

Capsid Consulting's mission is to enhance the Infection Prevention and Antibiotic Stewardship Programs in long term care facilities around the United States. Capsid Consulting is an Associate Member of Mass Senior Care Association.

Ramzi Asfour, MD, CEO and Founder, Capsid Consulting. Dr. Asfour has personal experience working in over 30 long term care facilities. 

Dost Sarpel, MD, Chief Operating Officer and Medical Director, Capsid Consulting. Dr. Sarpel is an Infectious Disease consultant with Milford Regional Physicians Group.

 

Maryanne Caruso, RN, CPHQ, CIC, Director of Infection Prevention and Clinical Education, Capsid Consulting. Maryanne is board certified in health care quality management and infection prevention & control.   

Fees:

MSCA Members - $400 per facility for the 8-week program ​​

Non-Members - $800 per facility for the 8-week program

Workshop Notes:

 •A maximum of five staff per facility will be allowed to attend each session to allow facility staff to attend those modules that are most relevant to their job function. 

•This is an 8-week program. Individual module registrations is not available. 

 

•Upon receipt of registration and payment, a registration link for all 8 sessions will be sent to the person registering the facility for the program. 

 

CEUs:

Nursing Home Administrator and Registered Nurse continuing education credits will be provided. Total CEUs will be determined by the duration of the session and attendee’s time participating in the webinar. Maximum CEUs per session is 1.5.

 

Cancellation Policy:

If an attendee needs to cancel, Mass Senior Care must be notified in writing no later than 48 hours prior to the start of the seminar for a credit of equal amount to be issued to your Mass Senior Care account. No refunds will be given. Cancellations should be emailed to info@maseniorcare.org.
