Building a “successful” Infection Prevention & Control program means that your facility will have effective measures in place to improve resident and employee safety, decrease operating costs, decrease facility-acquired infections and adverse outcomes, and will be continually survey-ready. This workshop series is designed to provide an interactive overview of infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship measures, with the opportunity for individual interaction to ensure that participants have a solid understanding of the elements of a successful program that are relevant to their job roles. Content is presented in a modular format, allowing participants to select topics relevant to their practice.
At the completion of this 8-week program, participants will:
•Define the staff roles and responsibilities for a successful outbreak management plan.
•Understand MDROs, C-diff and common infections found in long-term care residents.
•Understand the importance of an antibiotic stewardship program.
