Understanding the State and Federal Laws Related to Fraud & Abuse in Nursing Homes

Seminar Description:

Massachusetts Senior Care Association and our members are dedicated to providing the highest level of care and protection to every resident.  Strong facility policies on preventing abuse, mistreatment and neglect of nursing home residents, along with a vigilant attitude, can be the best defense in helping to keep residents safe.  This seminar is designed to provide a review of state and federal laws and regulations, reporting and investigation requirements, and strategies to assist you in ensuring the safety and well-being of your residents.  



Objectives:

  • Understand the Massachusetts Attorney General’s statutory and regulatory authority regarding patient abuse, neglect, mistreatment    and misappropriation;
  • Understand federal laws related to fraud and abuse and recent enforcement activity; and
  • Identify potential gaps in your facility’s resident safety policies and procedures.

Fees:

$80 for Mass Senior Care Members       

$160 for Non-Members

A Continental Breakfast will be provided.



CEUs:

3.0 CEUs will be awarded for nurses and nursing home administrators. The Massachusetts Senior Care Association has qualified for “deemed status #NH-09015-007” from the Board of Registration of Nursing Home Administrators for Administrators. This program also meets continuing education requirements for Nurses in Massachusetts. All paid registrants will receive certificate of attendance. 



Cancelation Policy:

Mass Senior Care must be notified in writing no later than 48 hours prior to the start of the seminar for a credit of equal amount to be issued to your Mass Senior Care account. No refunds will be given.  “No Show” attendees will be billed at the full registration fee. Cancelations should be emailed to info@maseniorcare.org.
