Program Description

Adult residents of long-term care facilities are at particular risk for severe respiratory illnesses caused by RSV, influenza and SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19. The residents of long-term care facilities are the ones most at risk for severe disease from these respiratory infections and the ones that will be the most affected by new vaccine availability. This webinar will inform nursing facilities of all changes to vaccine and treatments for the Fall. As part of this webinar, infection control measures to mitigate the transmission of these viruses within long-term care facilities will also be reviewed.

Program Presenters

Maryanne Caruso, RN, CPHQ, CIC, Director of Infection Prevention and Clinical Education, Capsid Consulting. Maryanne is board certified in health care quality management and infection prevention & control.

CEUs – 1.5
1.5 CEUs will be awarded for nurses and nursing home administrators. The Massachusetts Senior Care Association has qualified for “deemed status #NH-09015-007” from the Board of Registration of Nursing Home Administrators. This program also meets continuing education requirements for Nurses in Massachusetts.  All paid registrants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Cancellation Policy:
Mass Senior Care must be notified in writing no later than 48 hours prior to the start of the seminar for a credit of equal amount to be issued to your Mass Senior Care account. No refunds will be given. “No Show” attendees will be billed at the full registration fee. Cancellations should be emailed to info@maseniorcare.org.
