Catch a Falling Star – Stop Your CMS Five-Star Rating from Falling

Thursday, May 30, 2024

1:00pm – 2:00pm

Seminar Description:

Currently there are many shooting stars in the Five-Star system but get ready Massachusetts for some falling stars! The transition to CMI Medicaid reimbursement comes with a few challenges, namely a lowering of your Staffing and Quality measure Five-Star Domain Scores. In addition, we have a new staffing case-mix adjustment methodology being unveiled this July, and several QMs transitioning in and out of the Quality Measure Domain. Let’s learn together how to mitigate as many of these potential consequences and potentially catch a few additional stars!

  1. Articulate an understanding of Five-Star and Quality Measures
  2. Discuss changes to the system and "frozen" measures
  3. Describe the staffing model
  4. Learn how to adjust internal QAPI processes to accommodate these changes.
