CMS Offers Payment Details for COVID Testing in Nursing Centers
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released information to help states, nursing facilities, and other providers better understand the sources of Medicare and Medicaid coverage and payment for COVID-19 testing. Among the resources is the Coverage and Payment for COVID-19 Testing in Nursing Facilities flow chart, which details testing coverage for nursing facility residents. AHCA/NCAL has developed a summary of this resource.
HHS Releases Provider Relief Fund (PRF) Reporting Guidance
On September 21, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released new information regarding reporting requirements for recipients of funds from the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund as well as additional information related to potential future audits.
AHCA has provided an update with guidance for the nursing home sector that CARES Act funds can be used to make up for lost revenue up to 2019 net operating income levels. AHCA/NCAL has worked with HHS to advocate for an updated definition of revenue, which is a significant improvement over a preliminary set of reporting guidance shared with stakeholders in August.
