Staff Development Coordinator – 32 hours

Winchester Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, a Salter Healthcare facility, currently is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator (SDC). We provide rehabilitation programs, post-acute short-term and long-term health care, skilled nursing and hospice care as well as respite services.

The SDC Coordinator will
• Develop, evaluate and control the quality of in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Provide education, in-service training, educational guidance and support to the facility.
• Provide leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of the in-service educational programs of this facility.
• Secure, develop and maintains records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc., pertinent to in-service educational programs.
• Develop and participate in planning and conducting orientation programs that orients newly hired employees to their position, policies and procedures, resident rights and responsibilities, etc.
• Develop, implement and review the ongoing educational programs for nursing staff.
• Coordinate and implement ongoing in-service training for all staff including but not limited to infection control, fall prevention and resident rights.
• Assist in the evaluation process of nursing staff during the orientation period and on an ongoing basis. Maintain a program of continuing education to keep abreast of new trends in nursing care and procedures.

Requirements include:

• Licensed RN in MA with a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a long-term care setting.
• Excellent teaching, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of infection control and nursing education.
• Strong knowledge of policy, procedures, and regulations of skilled nursing center.
