Geri-Care Behavioral Safety for Caregivers:

A Train-the-Trainer Program

REPEAT PROGRAM

Thursday, July 26, 2018

Mass Senior Care Office, Waltham

8:30 a.m.— 4:30 p.m.

(Registration at 8:00 a.m.)

Seminar Description:

One of the most formidable challenges when working with the geriatric population is safely preventing and managing difficult behaviors, including resistance to care, verbal abuse, agitation and combativeness.  Behavior problems with geriatric residents can result in injuries to residents and staff, neglect, mistreatment and even abuse, potentially resulting in low staff morale and retention.

Join us at this full day training session presented by QBS, Inc., a Mass Senior Care Associate Member and a leader in behavioral safety training for the geriatric population.  The Geri-Care solution is a practical, competency-based safety training program designed to minimize behavioral risk and facilitate therapeutic interactions between staff and residents.

The training session includes:

•Training from a QBS Master Trainer on state-of-the-art behavioral prevention and management strategies;

•Manuals & Certification, including all materials necessary to train staff in your own organization; and

•Support & Trainer Privileges with access to email and telephone support from the QBS Geri-Care Trainer Support System

Objectives:

•Recognize the triggers for challenging behaviors in the geriatric population

•Understand the Geri-Care solution and how to implement it with your staff

•Identify strategies to reduce regulatory concerns and minimize behavioral risks.
