The ABCs of VBP: The Latest on Value-Based Payment Programs
Thursday, March 25, 2021
11:00 am – 12 noon

Webinar Description:
The shift in policy by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) from “volume to value” has led in recent years to a proliferation of Value-Based Payment (VBP) programs, both at the federal and state level.  This webinar will discuss the basic framework of a VBP program, the performance measurement used, and the methods for determining incentive payments.  We will review the current federal VBP programs, including the recent COVID-19 VBP program, and discuss how CMS has been using these incentive programs to address issues in post-acute care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the key components of a Value-Based Payment (VBP) program
  • Explain how the VBP framework applies to various VBP programs
  • Apply strategies to manage quality outcomes and track improvement in key VBP metrics
