Annual Life Safety Code Update Workshop

Program Summary:

To improve your facility's life safety program, you need the knowledge and resources for a seamless implementation. Understanding the various requirements of the Life Safety Code® and other standards is an intricate process and skilled nursing facilities continue to encounter challenges. This workshop will review the top deficiencies cited by Massachusetts DPH surveyors on annual life safety code inspections and identify best practices to avoid future deficiencies.



Discussion will include continued concerns with door inspections including documentation and practical tips when contracting out door inspections to outside consultants. The NFPA will present information on research conducted on enclosure gaps and the Chief Fire Protection Engineer from the State of Massachusetts will discuss fire suppression in elevator shafts and elevator rooms.



Objectives:

1) Understand the top deficiencies cited during LSC surveys;

2) Identify requirements of code compliance related to the most frequently cited deficiencies, and

3) Identify practical tips when conducting internally or, contracting out fire door inspections.

A representative from CMS has been invited.

Fees:

$80 for Mass Senior Care Members

$160 for Non Members

A Continental Breakfast is provided.
